W Munro (Rehab) Ltd as a company has invested in the education, training and development of staff to ensure that the specific needs of clients are met in this important area of work.

The company believes that to enable clients to be appropriately assisted, manual handling requirements need to be accurately risk assessed to ensure that the equipment addresses the specific needs of customers and consumers.

Through recognised manual handling courses, accredited SVQs and other relevant qualifications staff are able to professionally advise on the range of hoisting equipment and associated accessories.

Various key personnel are members of safety and risk management professional bodies IOSH, Back Exchange.

The company as a member of the BHTA and the ATP Society are committed to offering a service based on best practice processes and procedures when dealing with manual handling products. The company has a strong distributor link with key manufacturers in this area of Assistive Technology Equipment. Staff work closely with HCP on the use of the manual handling products advise where they supply and back up the equipment.

Practical demonstrations of the manual handling products can be arranged in the Community and in the acute sector by contacting trained staff at our offices.

Throughout the showroom and in the purpose built and fully equipped training room it is possible to see the manual handling equipment in operation.

To comply with LOLER Legislation all the service engineers based at Clydebank are trained to carry out six monthly servicing on hoisting equipment. PAT testing is also available.

The relevant test paperwork and documentation is provided as part of the service package.

The installation of ceiling track hoist solution systems, bath hoists, specialised baths to assist in the moving and handling and hoisting of clients is managed by the project team at Clydebank.

Staff are constantly updating their installation skills by participating in manufacturers courses, updates and CPD accredited modules.

The team work with HCPs, architects, structural engineers, builders, maintenance and other related trades and professions when planning this work.
